Dr. Salaam is one of a select few practitioners who has extensive knowledge and experience in treating the unique concerns of Skin Of Color (SOC). Her office is the pioneering practice in Memphis to utilize Platelet Rich Plasma therapies for the treatment of various forms of alopecia. Equally, Dr Salaam’s training is unparalleled.
Education and Training
Dr. Salaam attended Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia, where she earned her Bachelor of Science degree. She then went on to earn her Masters in Public Health from George Washington University, in Washington, DC. Afterwards, she completed several years of research at Johns Hopkins University in her hometown of Baltimore, Maryland. In 2004, she received her Doctor of Medicine from Wright State University, in Dayton, Ohio.
She completed her internship at Howard University Hospital in Washington, DC and furthered her career by completing four years of NIH clinical research at the Women’s Health Institute and CIDMAR. And if this wasn’t enough schooling she then went on to complete a family medicine residency at the University of Tennessee in Memphis. She has been privileged to spend years of training under renowned dermatologists specializing in SOC in Washington, DC
